Moonfire is hiring a Senior AI Research Scientist for a hybrid paid role in San Francisco, United States. Do research that ships. You will explore new ways to make language and multimodal models more capable and efficient, and work with engineers to bring promising results into Moonfire products.
What you will do
- Define and run research projects on language and multimodal models
- Build prototypes and benchmarks to test ideas quickly
- Publish or present key results where appropriate
- Mentor junior researchers and engineers
What we are looking for
- PhD or equivalent research experience in ML or a related field
- A record of strong publications or shipped research
- Deep PyTorch and large-scale training experience
- Independent, rigorous and collaborative

- Level: Senior. This is a senior role with real ownership and influence on how we work.
- Location and work mode: San Francisco, United States. A hybrid arrangement: part of the week in our San Francisco office, the rest from home.
- Pay: $200,000–260,000 / year. Every Moonfire role and internship is paid.
