Engineering Manager

Lead two product teams, roughly twelve engineers, and be measured on whether they do their best work rather than on how many tickets closed.

This is a people-first management role that still expects technical credibility. You will not be writing features every day, but you must be able to read a design document and ask the question everyone else missed.

What you will own

• Growth, feedback and career progression for your engineers, including the difficult conversations
• Delivery predictability across two roadmaps, and honest communication when a date will slip
• Hiring, onboarding and retention for your teams
• Engineering practice: review standards, technical debt, incident culture

What we are looking for

• Eight or more years in software, with at least two managing engineers directly
• A track record of people growing under you, which we will ask about in detail
• Enough hands-on background to earn trust from senior engineers
• Skill at managing upward and sideways, not only downward
• Comfort with ambiguity in a services business where client priorities move
