Data Engineer

Turn scattered operational data into something the business can actually make decisions with. You will build the pipelines, models and warehouse layers that our analytics and client reporting sit on top of.

This is a build role. The foundations exist but there is a great deal still to design, and you will have a real say in how it is done.

What you will own

• Batch and streaming pipelines feeding a cloud data warehouse
• Dimensional models and transformation logic, ideally in dbt
• Data quality checks, lineage and the alerting that catches a broken feed before a client does
• Working with analysts and product managers to understand what a number is supposed to mean

What we are looking for

• Three or more years in data engineering or a strongly data-focused backend role
• Advanced SQL, including window functions and query tuning
• Python for pipeline work, and orchestration experience with Airflow or similar
• Exposure to Snowflake, BigQuery or Redshift
• Healthy scepticism about any dataset handed to you without documentation

Bring curiosity about the business, not only the tooling. The hard part of this job is rarely the code.
