Backend Engineer (Java / Spring Boot)

Write the services that everything else depends on. Our backend team builds the transaction and integration layer behind client platforms that process a serious volume of records every day.

You will work in a small team where the person who designs an API is the person who supports it, so the quality of your interfaces comes back to you directly.

What you will own

• Spring Boot services covering business logic, integrations and scheduled processing
• Schema design and query performance in MySQL or PostgreSQL
• Third party integrations with payment, ERP and identity providers
• Unit and integration test coverage for everything you write

What we are looking for

• Three or more years of Java in production, ideally with Spring Boot
• Practical understanding of transactions, indexing and where an ORM stops helping
• Experience debugging something slow rather than only building something new
• Familiarity with message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is welcome
• Clear written communication, because design decisions outlive conversations
